New York City is where this whole movement started 21 years ago and it’s great to see the spirit of #Cranksgiving still thriving. Brooklyn is in its 4th year and one of THREE Cranksgivings in NYC (the others are Manhattan and the Bronx).
Cassandra, organizer of Cranksgiving Brooklyn (pop 2.5m) writes:
“I am really proud and excited that we’ve been able to partner with community organizations and Citi Bike, NYC’s bike share program, to make free CitiBikes available for the event. This way, we’re able to make the event accessible to anyone who’s interested in participating, even if they don’t own their own bike. This is especially true for lower income individuals, who may not be able to afford a rental bike. Most riders bring their own bike, though we’ve had people on rental bikes every year since we started in 2016, and we’ve had people on CitiBikes since we began the partnership two years ago.”
