Z Cycle Shop is hosting a Cranksgiving event in Capitol Hill Denver on Saturday, November 23, 2019. Bring your Bicycle, Lock, $15-20 for food, and a backpack. Registration starts at 9am at Z Cycle Shop, Race/Scavenger Hunt starts at 10am and ends at 1pm at Bang Up to the Elephant. You can partake as a team or individually.

Cranksgiving is an alley cat/food drive by bicycle. Part bike ride, part food drive, part scavenger hunt, it has been held annually in New York City since 1999. There are Cranksgiving bike ride/food drives all across the country each year! Visit www.cranksgiving.org for more locations and information.

Meet at Z Cycle Shop at 9am to register and pick up your manifest, there are routes for every level of rider, the race starts at 10am sharp. The ending of the race is at 1pm at Bang Up to the Elephant (restaurant on Pearl and 13th). There will be a table reserved for Z Cycle Shop where we can meet and you can get a drink or bite to eat if you like.

Also, no one will be upset if you donate more or if you don't go to every location on the manifest, it's your adventure! Bring a trailer for that awesome bike of yours and donate even more!

However, in order to win in the categories: Fastest Race, Best Costume, Most Food Donations: you must purchase all of the items listed at the stores listed on the manifest. You must put the receipt for the items in the envelope or the manifest will not be considered complete. You may drop items off at Z Cycle Shop at any point during the race. Your time will be based on when you complete the full manifest and turn in all receipts.

All of the food collected at grocery stores will benefit Metro Caring. Metro Caring works with our community to meet people’s immediate need for nutritious food while building a movement to address the root causes of hunger. They also offer innovative programming in Healthy Foods Access, Nutrition Education and Cooking Classes, ID Procurement, Urban Gardening, and Community Activation.
