Southernmost Slow Ride is hosting CRANKSGIVING, a Thanksgiving food drive.

Cranksgiving is a food drive on two wheels. Part bike ride, part madcap scavenger hunt. All you need is a bicycle, a lock, and a bag!

This event is FREE, but you'll need $15-$20 to purchase food., please feel free to spend MORE! Donations will support SOS Food Pantry on Stock Island.

How does it work? Show up to Salute! On The Beach on your bike. You will buy items at each grocery stop. You will receive a list of items needed from the SOS Foundation Food Pantry. Make sure you have a backpack, bag, panniers, trailer or basket to carry your items. When the start bell rings, off you go. The fun is in the planning of your route, collecting the items, and seeing who is the fastest and who brings in the most bounty. The reward is providing Thanksgiving to the food bank. You can ride as an individual or with a group. Awards will be handed out to individuals and teams for the quickest collection and the largest collection, as well as best costume for team and individuals.

Please do not use plastic grocery bags. Bring your reusable bags!

At delivery we will check in each person or team as they arrive, check receipts to show that you went to all the locations and then have our own Thanksgiving Party! Thanks to Richard Hatch for giving us a place to collect food!
