Description:

Cranksgiving is a food drive on two wheels. Part bike ride, part madcap scavenger hunt. All you need is a bicycle, a lock and a bag!

This event is FREE, but we ask that adult participants contribute $5 towards purchases of food donations. Donations will support St. Patrick's Center.

Urban Bike Project's Cranksgiving is a family-friendly version of the traditional alley cat competition. We'll break into teams to complete the scavenger hunt. Each team will have a UBP staff member or volunteer ride leader, and will receive a list of food items that make up Thanksgiving dinner plus a list of specific stores across Wilmington. Work together as a team to plot your route, then pedal the streets and trails of Wilmington to collect your items. We'll all finish our rides at Urban Bike Project's shop. Once every team has finished, we'll go together across the street to donate our collection to St. Patrick's Center. Prizes will be awarded to the fastest team and the slowest team! Remember, our event is all about having fun and spreading holiday cheer. Children capable of riding 5 miles at once are welcome, with adult supervision.

Cranksgiving is a national event that occurs in nearly 100 cities across the United States. Visit www.cranksgiving.org for more locations.
